PRESS RELEASE

College students barnstorming towards the light!

Ad Lucem Fine Art Exhibition

Foundation Degree students studying towards the BA Hons in Fine Art at Somerset College present an exciting range of original artwork at The Tithe Barn, Pilton (near Glastonbury). This magnificent venue is an outstanding example of medieval architecture, restored to its original state by the trustees. It has been chosen by the Ad Lucem Group specifically to show art at its best.

The exhibition will be a fascinating display of unusual paintings, sculpture, printmaking, film, photography, textiles and installation. Artists will display work that demonstrates a different approach to their contemporaries, some using unconventional processes and materials amongst the more familiar. This will be a melting pot from abstraction to amusement, beautiful to beastly, intellectual to idiotic, outlandish to outrageous, sublime to sensitive.

Essential to recipients of this release will be the private view on 21st May from 7:00pm, fully catered with entertainment, wine and snacks. Michael Eavis, responsible for the iconic Glastonbury Festival, will be attending to open the exhibition. Don’t miss this!

The exhibition is open to the public from 22st – 27th May, from 10 – 5pm daily; refreshments will be available.
